GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND DRAMA
"Anna's approach is both rigorous and inclusive. Her effervescent personality radiates care and warmth in her teaching style and interactions with the students. She remains a popular figure amongst staff and students on the Acting Studies Programme. I could rely on Anna to deliver a class that would technically exceed expectations and ensure that the teaching was of the highest possible standard.
The interdisciplinary approach brought a freshness to the vocal training that transformed the student's relationship with their voices. Her physiovocal approach supported the students to understand more deeply the connection between movement, voice and acting without compromising on vocal technique.
Anna’s engagement with research ensures the latest developments in her field are at her fingertips. This gave her teaching a continuous relevance and an impressive balance of enquiry and expertise. A constant source of intellectual nourishment and ideas surrounding her field.
Anna’s methodology allows her to remain agile and tune in to the participants' specific needs. Her feedback is clear, concise and well communicated"
Programme Leader, BA Hons in Acting Studies, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, March 2023
Right from the get-go, I was impressed with the sheer breadth of Anna-Helena’s knowledge - of technique, of traditional songs, of avenues towards creative freedom, and of the practicalities of creation and rehearsal as a solo performer. She tailored each session to what I was desiring and requiring at that moment in my development, and I gleaned very much from each meeting. Anna-Helena has skillfully adapted to the medium of online teaching, and is more than able to break through the technological barrier and create a human-to-human in-the-room kind of connection with me as her student. Additionally, by virtue of meeting over Zoom and Skype, I was able to record each lesson, listen back, and use it to help guide my daily practice. As a performer and practitioner, Anna-Helena is highly disciplined, adventurous, and marked by integrity. As a teacher, she is dedicated, generous, receptive, understanding, and highly motivating. I recommend one-on-one lessons with Anna-Helena for anyone working with voice, text, and/or song, in the pursuit of deepening an existing practice or sharpening the tools of ones embodied craft.
Georgia-Lee Johnson, professional musician and Steiner teacher
Working with Anna-Helena and her ACT practice online has taken my singing and composition to a completely new level: A magical experience that brings out the most raw and honest musical, physical, and emotional impulses within me. The training has broadened my view on my creative process and enabled me to approach it from a more technical music standpoint. It helped me to truly discover my emotions and organically create what echoes with them.

Anna gave an inspiring and mind opening session which was hugely useful in building the confidence of the group, and allowing them to find their own ways of connecting with audiences digitally.
